Pioneer DEH-2200UB

CD Receiver with iPod Direct Control and USB Input

Pioneer DEH-2200UB came to my attention by word-of-mouth, and I was skeptical at first. But I'm glad I gave it a try.  Pioneer DEH-2200UB lived up to - and beat - every one of my expectations. Pioneer DEH-2200UB does everything you want it to and at an amazing price. You can plug in any USB device and it will play the music stored there.  I plugged in my iPod with the normal USB cable and it worked great - and it gives me the option to control the music from the deck or from the iPod. You can also hold the "List" button down and the song name/artist/album can be displayed.

What I also like about Pioneer DEH-2200UB is the front USB - it allows you to adjust your bass, tremble and mids, unlike my old cheap radio. In addition, it outputs 22 RMS, most receivers seem to only output 18 RMS or less. User interface, takes some time getting used to. Expect to check the instruction manual a couple of times before you remember how to adjust everything. There are more buttons than your average car stereo, therefore it is not intuitive like an iPod, but it's simple enough to be automatic after some time.

What I also don't like is that the navigation buttons are small, hard to read and too complicated. The unit comes with a wireless remote that is much better organized , and I recommend that you use the remote control when you are adjusting your receiver.

What's in the Box? Pioneer DEH-2200UB In-Dash CD receiver, wiring harness, installation hardware and an owner's manual. This is the best unit I have ever owned, especially for the features and price. Speaking of price, I got this on sale for under a hundred bucks on Amazon. Check their site to see the latest price of Pioneer DEH-2200UB.
